Removing "Scrap Objects“

During DWG/ DXF data transfer, elements or points with infinite coordinates are often output in the DWG/ DXF files. However, a CAD program can rarely distinguish between such elements and the actual drawing content. When zooming to the drawing limits (in AutoCAD, this is always done automatically after DWG/DXF data transfer), the drawing content disappears. Only a few pixels will light up on the screen. One of these pixels is the drawing content. The zooming of the drawing and the deletion of the superfluous elements is a very tedious procedure.

In the "Remove scrap elements" dialog box, you have the option of defining a field in which your transferred drawing should be located. All elements that have a coordinate outside of this field are removed from the DWG/ DXF file. The dimensions of the field are determined by the coordinates of the lower left and upper right corners.

Tip:

If you do not know within which coordinate boundaries your drawing is located, simply enter sufficiently large coordinates. In most cases it is sufficient to indicate the values (-1 000 000, -1 000 000) and (1 000 000, 1 000 000).
